20th Anniversary Edition of Christmas Alphabet, Christmas Mini Book Slated for 2014
NEW YORK –Up With Paper, the world’s leading pop-up greeting card company, announced a new licensing agreement with acclaimed paper engineer, Robert Sabuda, to publish a 20th anniversary edition of his award-winning The Christmas Alphabet pop-up book, as well as his Christmas miniature pop-up book. Both books will be released in 2014 under the company’s Jumping Jack Press imprint.
The company revealed the new, exclusive, worldwide licensing agreement from its first-ever booth on the opening day of the NY Now Show.
The ground-breaking Alphabet book, first released in 1994, includes 26 dazzling spreads, each featuring the magical pop-ups for which Sabuda is so well known, and each commemorating familiar holiday sights and symbols. The 20th anniversary edition will feature an all new, original cover, as well as a custom pop-up ornament insert, both featuring gold foil embellishments.
The Christmas mini book, in its stocking-stuffer size, features nine fun pop-ups that spell out the word “Christmas,” with amazing detail and intricacy in a book of its size. The Jumping Jack Press edition will feature an all new, blue foil cover.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Robert Sabuda, the preeminent name in paper engineering,” said George White, President and COO of Up With Paper. “His amazing pop-ups are known around the world, and this license will enable us to get more of those pop-ups into consumers’ hands.”
The two Sabuda books mark an extension of licensed titles from Up With Paper’s award-winning Jumping Jack Press pop-up book imprint, following the company’s Disney-licensed Marvel and Toy Story titles in 2012. The company has also continued to publish original titles, including its best-selling Snowflakes and The Snow Queen holiday titles. Jumping Jack Press titles are available directly from Up With Paper, and from the company’s distributor partner in US and Canada, Ingram Publishing Services. Up With Paper also partners with publishers in Japan and France for co-editions, and will expand into additional territories in 2014.
